LACMA is involved in a number of public health initiatives and are seeking physicians to serve as volunteers to assist in efforts to better the health and happiness of our communities.

Join the Disaster Healthcare Surge Unit

We are working with the LA County Department of Health Services to recruit and train 200 physician volunteers from LA County. This project is aimed at improving the county’s public health and medical preparedness and response capabilities for emergencies, whether deliberate, accidental or naturally occurring. Physicians are being recruited to
Serve on the committee, become a trainer or volunteer. Signing up is fast and easy.

Public Policy Challenge

In response to this public health issue and in order to work towards prevention of displacement and homelessness, LACMA has launched a challenge for medical students from Charles Drew University, University of California—Los Angeles, University of Southern California and Western University of Health Sciences to propose legislation for adoption by the County of Los Angeles in order to reduce the onset of homelessness increase throughout the county.
