HOD Experience

Historic week for LACMA as the annual House of Delegates convened in Anaheim (with next four years at LA Live) and Dr. Jack Chou won his race for CMA Vice Speaker. Dr. David Aizuss transitioned to immediate past CMA president and Dr. Vito Imbasciani was elected as a delegate to the California Delegation to the AMA, representing LACMA. Congratulations to all and thank you Dr. Aizuss for representing medicine so artfully this past year! I also want to give special recognition to LACMA Vice President, Governance and Operations, Lisa Le for her incredible work this past weekend. Lisa handles the event each year (for over a decade now) and ensures that our delegation has all the materials, accommodations and information necessary to have a valuable HOD experience.

Thank you, Lisa!

The annual Los Angeles Healthcare Awards is November 8th and we have tickets available. I hope our members attend as we honor local healthcare institutions, physicians and provide much needed financial assistance for medical students in need.

Medical images and health data belonging to millions of Americans, including X-rays, MRIs and CT scans, are sitting unprotected on the internet and available to anyone with basic computer expertise.

The records cover more than 5 million patients in the U.S. and millions more around the world. In some cases, a snoop could use free software programs — or just a typical web browser — to view the images and private data, an investigation by ProPublica and the German broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk found.

Are you prepared?

Member Retreat

I would like to share how LACMA is addressing the #1 issue facing physicians, namely burnout. As you may know, LACMA has a partnership with the Four Seasons Resort (Westlake Village) and the California Health & Longevity Institute. If any members would like to take advantage of the retreat (attached program) here is a link to the experience highlights.

Simply let me know and I will work with you on availability and process.
