Our Patient Care Foundation will also announce this year's scholarship recipients at the awards ceremony at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills on November 8th, 2019.

The annual House of Delegates (HOD) is set to take place on October 26-27 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. Delegates from all over the state convene to establish a broad policy on current major issues.  This year’s major issues are cannabis, digital health, and homelessness.  LACMA has been allotted 35 delegate and 35 alternate delegate spots to represent their constituents at HOD.

If you have concerns around any of the major issues, please reach out to Lisa Le to communicate the information you’d like to share with your delegates.  Please also reach out to Lisa if you would like to get involved in next year’s HOD.  This is a great way to be a part of the policy-making process and have your voice be heard!

Put Money Back in Your Wallet

I spoke with BGR Account Executive, George Brumis, who answered questions about government stimulus programs that can put money back in your wallet.

Myth: The R&D Tax Credit won’t help me with my State taxes.
Truth: In addition to Federal Tax Credits & Incentives, almost 40 States also offer their own additional tax credits and incentives, and this includes the State of California.

Myth: The R&D Tax Credits are too complicated to get.
Truth: We make the process simple and easy for you. Through our team of tax professionals, we help discover what you may qualify for and help you get back the money you're entitled to.

Watch this explainer video to learn more about putting money back in your wallet.

CMA President Statement on Trump Admin's New Medicare Executive Order

California Medical Association (CMA) President David H. Aizuss, M.D., issued the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s new executive order on “Protecting and Improving Medicare for our Nation’s Seniors”:

“Since Day One, this administration has worked to undermine access to care and quality of care for patients. The president’s latest Executive Order suggests changes regarding the scope of practice that would also have disastrous effects for patients. We must ensure that every American, regardless of age or economic status, has access to a trained physician who can provide the highest level of care. We agree that medical professionals should be able to practice at the top of their license but care must be supervised by a physician who is highly trained and ultimately responsible. Expanding access to care should not come at the expense of patient safety and we will not support unequal standards of care for patients from different economic backgrounds.”
