Voting on Super Tuesday

The March Primary Election is tomorrow. We hope that you will show up to the polls (or mail in your vote-by-mail ballot) and ensure the voices of physicians are heard loud and clear. Several counties recently changed their elections process under the “Voter’s Choice Act” which consolidates polling places into vote centers, enables early voting and requires registered voters mail absentee ballots. We encourage you to click here to learn if these changes affect you, and here to confirm your voter registration status.

Click here to view your CALPAC supported candidates in races where an incumbent is NOT seeking re-election, and the California Medical Association's recommended position on Proposition 13. Please note that candidates listed were considered through a formal interview process at the county level. CALPAC — CMA's political action committee — did not authorize opposition to any incumbent legislators.

Registration Now Open for CMA Legislative Advocacy Day,
April 14

The California Medical Association (CMA) will host its 46th annual Legislative Advocacy Day on April 14, 2020, on the State Capitol South Lawn. Attendees will have the opportunity to go to the Capitol throughout the day to meet with legislators on health care issues. The meetings will be scheduled and coordinated by local county medical societies.

This is a unique event for California physicians and is free of charge to all CMA members. Plan to join more than 400 physicians, medical students and resident members who will be coming to Sacramento to lobby their legislative leaders as champions for medicine and their patients.

Registered attendees will receive webinar training on legislation and policy affecting the practice of medicine on March 25.

Set April 14 aside to become an advocate for your patients and colleagues!
