Statement from Jerry Abraham, MD, MPH, CMQ

Greetings LACMA Members!

My name is Jerry Abraham and it has been an honor and privilege to serve you as LACMA Councilor-At-Large for the last year and I seek your vote to continue in this role for another term.

I want to thank each of you for all you do caring for patients and for your continued LACMA Membership. I am also thankful for all that I learn from each of you: about your work, your scope of practice, various modes of practice, and specialty expertise. By getting to know you better, I am able to more successfully advocate for our House of Medicine.

During the past 4 years serving on the LACMA Board of Directors, I have had the opportunity to lead and engage in a variety of work on your behalf. I currently serve as President of LACMA District I, Vice Chair of the LACMA Delegation to the California Medical Association, Co-Chair LACMA's Young Physicians Committee, as well as serve on LACMA's Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Bylaws Committee and Ad-Hoc Committee of District Presidents & Treasurers.

Over the last 4 years, I have tirelessly advocated on-behalf-of Los Angeles County Physicians, Residents & Fellows, and Medical Students in the various halls of government within the City, County and California State Capitol on issues including Liability Reform, Medi-Cal Funding, Payment Reform, Protecting Scope of Practice, and GME Funding.

Furthermore, I am committed to supporting the work of our students and residents tackling pressing public health and social issues including Pediatric Obesity, Diabetes Epidemic, Ending Homelessness, Opioid Use Crisis, Physician-Aid-in-Dying, Increasing Vaccination Rates, Reducing Gun Violence, Protecting DACA Recipients, and Reproductive Rights.

WORKING TOGETHER—WE WILL RETURN THE JOY OF PRACTICE TO MEDICINE.

I humbly request your Support and Vote for LACMA Councilor-At-Large,

Jerry P Abraham, MD MPH CMQ Family & Community Medicine USC-EISNER Family Medicine Center at DIGNITY HEALTH California Hospital
